Buddha, which translates to “awakened one” or “the enlightened one” has passed wisdom and inspiration from generation to generation throughout the years. Many people know Buddha as an iconic image of a serene and wise sage whose teachings founded Buddhism. For some, an interest in Buddha or Buddhism may stop there but as eastern philosophy and religion become more prevalent in the west the desire to learn more about this religion is on the rise. A great place to start, after you’ve maxed out on google, is with Karen Armstrong’s book, Buddha.
